John Wendell Burnette, 79, of Thorsby died Sunday, August 11, 2019, at Grandview Medical Center, Birmingham.

He was born on Saturday, September 2, 1939, in Chilton Co., AL, Son of the late Joseph Charles Burnette and the late Beatrice Chandler “Beadie” Burnette.

He was a foreman for Alabama Power.

Surviving are his Son, Darryl (Lesley) Burnette; Daughters, Melody (Mike) Burnette Jones, Jennifer (Tripp) Farrell; Grandchildren, John “Wen” (Katelyn) Wendell, II, Michael Bailey Jones, Hayes Farrell, Luke Farrell.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Charlie and Beadie Burnette; Wife, Faye Hayes Burnette; Granddaughter, Kate Burnette; Sister; Anita Ann Porter.

Friends will be received from 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at Pates Chapel Baptist Church.

Services will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Pates Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Jones officiating.

Interment will follow in Pates Chapel Baptist Cemetery, Jemison, AL.
