The Chilton County Commission voted on March 12 to suspend chief clerk of the Chilton County Tag Office Angela Fulmer without pay pending a decision in her court case.
The vote was made following a lengthy executive session, in which pending litigation was discussed.
Commissioner Steve Langston abstained from voting. The remaining commissioners voted in favor.
The plan was to inform Fulmer about the decision the morning of March 13.
She was arrested on Feb. 6 by the State Bureau of Investigation and charged with alleged burglary of a residence without using force. She was released on bond.
Commissioner Chairman Joseph Parnell has stated that the case involving Fulmer is unrelated to any county business.
According to the Commission employee handbook, any employee convicted of a felony must have their employment terminated. Fulmer was charged with a Class C felony.
She has been on leave using personal time accrued.
