It was a grand start to the season for Thorsby softball following a decisive 12-1 victory at home against Isabella on Feb. 25.
The Rebels wasted no time with three runs in the first inning and six more in the second inning to jump out to a 9-1 lead.
Lindsey Burnett and Destinee Scott both went 2-for-3 at the plate.
The outcome of the game appeared inevitable after Autumn Edwards belted a three-run home run to center field in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Peyton McManus and Cameron Lockhart each hit a double, en route to Thorsby outhitting the Mustangs 9-4.
Isabella committed five errors in the game, which did not help the cause.
Fortunately for the Mustangs, the rest of the season remains, and there is an abundant amount of time to fix any early season troubles.
THS senior Adi Niamon pitched for the Rebels and did her part to stymie the Isabella batting order.
Isabella had four hits in the contest including a double by Aliyah Patterson and an RBI by Kristin Wilson.
