Frank Bonagura, Sr, 64, of Verbena, Alabama passed away January 26, 2019, in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
Frank was born July 18, 1954, in Long Island, New York to Anthony and Phyllis Bonagura. He lived and worked in Port Saint Lucie, Florida for 30 years before moving to Alabama in 2003.
Frank spent seven years with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s office followed by 17 years with the Port St. Lucie Police Department as a detective, before retiring. He loved to fish and play softball. After retiring he worked with the Chilton County Rescue Squad, Volunteer Community Emergency Response team and as a trainer for the Police Auxiliary. He loved to cook for his church in Alabama.
Survivors include wife of 34 years, Sandra “Sandy” (Cuthbert) Bonagura; son, Tony Bonagura of Port St. Lucie, Florida; daughter, Deanna Bonagura of Verbena, Alabama; son, Frank and Jasmine Bonagura, Jr. of Port St. Lucie, Florida; brother, Vinnie and Deb Bonagura of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and granddaughter, Karma Jade Bonagura.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. Haisley Tribute Center, 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd., Port Saint Lucie, Florida, 34984. A reception will follow service.
