Brookwood Baptist Health Systems recently announced it would be launching a sports medicine and orthopedic practice that will cover central Alabama.

Precision Sports Medicine & Orthopedics will feature six locations, including one in Clanton.

“Brookwood Baptist Health is firmly committed to staying at the forefront of innovation and quality and providing value to our patients and their families,” said Robert Branstetter, CEO of Brookwood Baptist Health’s Primary & Specialty Care Network, in a release “We are proud to extend our long legacy in orthopedics to now include a sports medicine and orthopedic practice led by some of the top specialists in the state.”

Precision’s offices will be located in Alabaster, Chelsea, Clanton, Hoover, Princeton and Vestavia.

Dr. Michael Patterson will be working at the Clanton location. He will be at Chilton Urgent Care, located at 1210 Seventh St. S on Mondays from 1:30 to 4 p.m. He will also work at the Alabaster location.

Patterson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist.

According to his bio on Brookwood Health System’s website, he has “over 15 years of experience. He earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine before completing a residency with Orlando Regional Healthcare System. Additionally, he was fellowship–trained at American Sports Medicine Institute, and served as the Fellowship Director for the American Sports Medicine Institute.”

According to the release, Precision Sports Medicine & Orthopedics “provides the expertise and treatment of sports-related injuries, work-related musculoskeletal injuries, pediatric injuries, general orthopedics, adult reconstruction and arthritis, hand and wrist, total joint replacement and minimally invasive procedures, among other orthopedic-related injuries and conditions.”
