The Maplesville Town Council unanimously approved a three percent raise for all full-time employees that have worked for the town for more than one year during a meeting on Jan. 14.
A 25-cents per hour raise was also approved for Jason Reeves in the police department for being with the department for three months. This is one of the incremental raises that all full-time town employees receive.
Updates were given during the meeting on improvement projects for the town. New awnings at town hall and the library have been installed and resurfacing has begun on Mitchell Hill Road.
Also during the meeting:
- Melvin Morton was hired to work in the street department.
- Carolyn Reynolds was approved as a volunteer with the Maplesville Fire Department.
Maplesville Town Hall will be closed on Jan. 21 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
