Barbara Harrison Powell, 89, of Clanton, died Monday, January 14, 2019.

She was born on Saturday, January 26, 1929, in Alabama, daughter of the late George W. Harrison and the late Alice Carr Harrison.

She was a claims clerk with the State of Alabama.

Surviving are sons, Joe E. Powell, Jr. of Clearwater, FL, Charles R. (Connie) Powell of Clanton, AL, Jimmie A. Powell of Clanton, AL; daughter, Betty P. (Jimmy) Shannon of Hoover, AL; grandson, Chris H. Powell of Clearwater, FL; granddaughter, Amanda P. McCoy of Longwood, FL; Natalie A. Shannon of Hoover, AL; great-granddaughter, Amber Dunlap; great-grandson, Levin McCoy; great-great-granddaughter, Harlyn Dunlap.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe E. Powell.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m., Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be Thursday, January 17, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Martin Chapel with Rev. James Watkins officiating.

Interment will follow in Rutledge Cemetery,
