Erskin Carroll, 90, of Clanton, died Sunday, January 6, 2019, at his home.
He was born March 31, 1928, in Clanton Alabama, the 7th child born of 14 children, son of the late W. H. Carroll and the late Celestia Watson Carroll.
After retiring, he loved to work in his wood shop. Erskin had a profound love for his Savior, church and his family. He devoted his life to Christ at a young age and faithfully served Him for many years as a deacon at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He not only faithfully loved and served Jesus Christ, but he was faithful to his beloved wife, Delene. He was loved by his family, church, community and, most of all, his Lord.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Frances Delene Short Carroll of Clanton, AL; daughters, Sharron (John) Diorio of Birmingham, AL, Brenda (Dan) Lawrence of Demopolis, AL; sons, Terry (Cathy) Carroll of Clanton, AL, Tommy (Cindy) Carroll of Gulf Shores, AL; 9 grandchildren; 19 (+ 1 due in March) great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Clark Carroll, Dale Carroll; sisters, Jean Carroll Giles, Betty Carroll Mims; a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
Services will be Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Kent Dodson officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Baptist Cemetery.
