The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce has been undergoing some changes lately.

Director Francine Wasden, who took over in August, has brought with her multiple changes the organization is now implementing.

One of the projects the Chamber has taken on is updating its website, found at chiltonchamberonline.com.

“Our website had been in place a number of years, and it was stale,” Wasden said. “It needed a new look, especially after we changed our logo. We are able to change things out often now. We are excited about it. We want to promote our businesses. We feature our business of the month on there.”

Wasden said the Chamber went with a new company when working on the update, one that specifically works with Chamber of Commerce websites.

She said the new site makes things easy and will help the organization “keep things updated.”

The new website contains a plethora of information, including sections about what the Chamber does, names of staff members and the board of directors as well as a link to the 2018 directory of members.

“It shows what we are trying to accomplish,” Wasden said.

One of the ideas Wasden brought with her was naming a Chamber business of the month. With the new website live, the Chamber may now prominently feature the business that has been most recently awarded the honor.

Another new feature is a scrolling interactive list of upcoming Chamber events.

There are other usual bits of information as well, including how to become a Chamber member, a map of Chilton County and even the current weather.
