The work session held by the Commission prior to its meeting on Nov. 27 involved discussing the process of interviewing for a new county attorney.

Commissioner Allen Caton mentioned extending the time period of the job posting from 30 days to 90 days due to being in the midst of the holiday season.

County Engineer Tony Wearren also raised the question of what could be done to stop people from skirting the regulations when it comes to trailer park zoning.

“I believe this is something we need to tackle when it’s the only thing on the agenda,” Parnell said.

The Commission also was informed by an attorney helping with the process that the county is not in the chain of credit on the bonds associated with new Alabama Department of Resources building.

That means that it will not cost the county anything.
