The Chilton County United Way presented a $1,000 grant and a recognition award to the Turning Point Foundation in Thorsby on Nov. 20.
The grant will help the nonprofit organization’s mission of transforming the lives of men suffering from addiction.
Turning Point uses a 12-step recovery program that is faith based and focuses on the Word of God throughout the process.
The foundation is located on a 10-acre property in Thorsby and has been helping men in their recovery process for more than 20 years.
In many ways, the grant was also a thank you to Turning Point for the support they have provided to the Chilton County United Way.
According to CCUW Campaign Coordinator Carol Fortuna, members of Turning Point helped the United Way set up at several events in the past year.
The events included the CCUW Kickoff, appreciation lunch, Ride for the Cause fundraiser and Peach Jam.
“Chilton County United Way is thankful for all their help,” Fortuna said.
A certificate was also awarded to Turning Point as a show of appreciation for their commitment to CCUW and the community.
