Janie Wade Bates, 85, of Clanton died Sunday, November 18, 2018.

She was born Monday, June 5, 1933, in Chilton Co., AL, daughter of the late Charles Wade, Jr., and the late Minnie Fiquette Wade.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are husband, Hugh M. Lally Bates; sons, Mickey (Barbara) Bates, Richard Bates; daughter, Vickey Bates (Jerry) Grooms; grandchildren, Jarrad (Marci) Bates, Brandon (Casey) Bates, Cameron (Shelley) Bates, Candace Bates (Brent) Doriety, Amy Grooms (Mark) Stephenson, Johnathan (Erica) Grooms; great-grandchildren, Luke and Hugh Bates, Cole Bates, Hannah Wilson, Maddie Wilson, Landon Stephenson, Caris, Hadassah and Elliott Doriety, Austin, Allison, Anna Grooms, Ean, Elizabeth, Ella Grooms.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles W. and Minnie Wade.

Friends will be received from 1 – 2, Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Martin Chapel.

Services will be Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Matt DeBord officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
