Carroll “C.L.” Lanier Johnson, 84, of Clanton died Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at St. Vincent’s Chilton in Clanton.

He was born Sunday, January 14, 1934, in Chilton Co., AL, son of the late Julius Raymond Johnson and the late Lottie Scarborough Johnson.

He was a pipe fitter with Alabama Power.

Surviving are wife, Dorothy Jean Johnson; daughter, Janice (Jerome) Howell; grandchildren, Scott Long, Bonnie (Jeremy) Yates; Victoria (Chris) Sides, Jay (Hannah) Howell; great-grandchildren, Robbie, Harleigh, Zac Long, Kylie, Kara and Colt Yates; brother, Rhonie Johnson; sister, Julia (Troy) Mims; stepchildren, Milton (Martha) Dye, Rebecca (Cedric) Ellison and Mark (Deborah) Dye.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Lottie West, parents, Julius & Lottie Johnson, mother, Berlin Caton Johnson, sister, Geraldine Johnson and stepsons, Nelson Dye and Timothy Dye.

Friends will be received from 10 – 11 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the service beginning at 11 a.m.  Rev. Matt DeBord officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery.
