The Central Alabama Performing Arts Guild will host its second Perfect Note Jazz Festival on Nov. 3 at Senior Connection from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The group is inviting visual artists to participate with booths showing and selling their works of art around the interior perimeter of the building.

Scarlett Teel, who is involved with planning for the event, said the opportunity was not limited to one art style, but could include anything from painting to pottery or dolls.

Teel had a booth of her paintings at last year’s festival. Teel paints with oil, acrylic and watercolors, but right now her medium of choice is acrylic.

“We had several sales made during the event,” Teel said.

Cost to reserve a space is $25. The opportunity is open to any local artists, regardless of affiliation with the Arts Guild.

“We would love to have some that haven’t been with us before,” Teel said.

Artists are encouraged to call (205) 755-8227 to reserve a spot. Teel said spots will be assigned in order of reservation, meaning those who sign up early will get the best spots.

“The first event we were able to sit close to the band and hear them play as we were selling,” Teel said.

In addition to the live music and art vendors, food truck vendors and dancing opportunities will also be onsite.

“It was wonderful last year,” Teel said. “I enjoyed every moment of it.”

She said she enjoyed listening to the music and hearing “the exclamations of the people coming to listen and reacting to the music.”

Funds raised from selling the art booth spaces help the Central Alabama Performing Arts Guild offset costs to hold the festival.

Admission to the Jazz Festival is free. Musicians will include Prime Suspects, Usual Suspects, Chuck and the Swing Kings, Dr. B’s One Man Band, Will Wetzel Trio and The Birmingham Nouveau Reinhardt Group.

Senior Connection is located at 304 Park Plaza in Clanton.
