Memories of Joe Hunter will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Daphne Hunter, of Clanton, Alabama; son, Dr. Terrance Hunter of Columbia, South Carolina; stepchildren, Tequila (Kerry) Purnell of Jonesboro, Georgia, Jacqueline (Herman) Stewart of Crestview, Florida, and Jonathan Stewart of Lake City, Florida; honorary daughter, Jalysa Cubit of Clanton, Alabama; a very special adopted daughter that he loved dearly, Kaphera Tejada Hunter of Clanton, Alabama; four grandchildren, Dorian Hunter, Dakota Stewart, Kerri Purnell and Alexandria Purnell. Joe will also be missed by his dear siblings, Ralph (Otha) Hunter of Rome, Georgia, Johnny (Sharon) Hunter of Lincoln, Alabama, Douglas (Lois) Hunter of Clovis, New Mexico, Rosie Tolbert of Anniston, Alabama, Eunice Wills of Anniston, Alabama, and Elbert (Carolyn) Hunter of Midland, Michigan; a very special mother-in-law, Ida Steward of Clanton, Alabama; brother-in-laws, Randy Steward of Jemison, Alabama, and Anthony Steward of Jonesboro, Georgia; sister-in-laws, Jennifer (Rodney) Heathington of Huntsville, Alabama, and Frances (Samuel) Holt of Centerpoint, Alabama. Joe will be sincerely missed and remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends and co-workers.   He was preceded in death by three siblings; Luvenia, Willie and Herman.

Funeral services for Mr. Joe Hunter will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 1 pm at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, 2389 St. Mary Road, Lincoln, AL 35096. Interment will follow in the churchyard cemetery.
