Father’s Day has come and gone, signifying that it is indeed time to begin turning in baby bottle banks to Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center of Chilton County.
For a fun spin on the Baby Bottle Campaign conclusion, the center is hosting a Baby Bottle Roundup on June 23, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
“We’ll have hot dogs and drinks and chips, and we’ll be giving a tour of the center — and taking their baby bottles, if they want to turn them in,” executive director Susan Scott said.
The Baby Bottle Campaign is the center’s annual fundraiser, distributing baby bottle banks to participating community members and groups to collect cash for the cause.
The campaign typically extends from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day.
Scott said the roundup was created to get to know the community better and allow a chance for the community to learn more about the center and its free services while returning baby bottle banks to the pregnancy center.
Over the next several weeks, cash collected will be carefully calculated by the center to present a final fundraising total.
Care Net of Chilton is hoping to reach $25,000.
All proceeds support the operations of the nonprofit center, which provides services to women in crisis pregnancies and other pregnant women desiring pregnancy tests or ultrasounds.
All services are supplied free of charge.
