The structure of Thorsby’s new storm shelter is complete, but final preparations are still being made to make it fully operational.
Thorsby Mayor Robert Hight informed residents and council members in attendance during the Town Council meeting on May 21.
According to Hight, the shelter can be used if a severe weather emergency arises, despite electricity and plumbing still in the process of being installed.
The shelter is located at Sam Bentley Ballpark in downtown Thorsby.
More details about the conclusion of the storm shelter will be provided in a future edition of The Clanton Advertiser.
