Registration is officially open for Clanton Church of Christ’s G.L.O.W. for Jesus: Let Your Light Shine themed Vacation Bible School, set for July 22-25, from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m.

G.L.O.W. is an acronym for Grow in the Light of his Word, which is the primary goal for the week of fun.

Lessons and activities will explore various aspects of God’s and people’s relationship to light, as taught in the Holy Bible.

Director Amy Jolley of the church’s Children/Teen Ministry said the church hopes “for the children to learn more about God and to learn that God loves them and cares about them, and our church does too.”

Participating age groups include children in the nursery, K4 to K5, first through third grades and fourth through sixth grades.

Registration is free.

Children will have the opportunity to wear glow-in-the-dark face paint and are encouraged to arrive wearing colors thematic for the evening’s lesson:

July 22 – Wear white

July 23 – Wear neon

July 24 – Wear white or neon

July 25 – Wear VBS T-shirt

T-shirts will be distributed on July 24 after VBS.

Check-in opens in the foyer between 5:50 and 6:10 p.m. each night, allowing time to apply face paint for children who want it.

VBS will conclude on July 25 with special, surprise water activities for the children. Parents can expect the event to close around 9:30 p.m. that night.
