North Chilton’s 2018 Political Candidate Town Hall Meeting offering an open microphone to community members on May 14 is accepting question submissions.

Event coordinator Diane Calloway said announcements for the event have been met with an “overwhelming response.”

“We’ve had so many people say they’re going to be there,” Calloway said. “We want to make sure we can go quickly, so politicians can get those [questions] answered.”

Community members can submit questions for candidates to tdcalloway7@gmail.com.

Submissions should include the candidate or political office to which the question is addressed.

Lined up for the meeting are candidates running for the following offices: Alabama State House Representative, Sheriff, Probate Judge, Board of Education and Coroner.

The deadline for submitting questions via email is 5 p.m. on May 12.

Questions can also be submitted upon arrival.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Jemison City Hall. Dinner will be available for purchase at the event.
