Local athletes compete at Montgomery Academy Invitational

Chilton County High, Maplesville High and Billingsley School all were represented at the Montgomery Academy Invitational track and field meet March 24.
Maplesville’s Tydaisa Davis finished fifth in the women’s shot put with a distance of 8.56m. Billingsley’s Aubree Dudley finished seventh with a distance of 8.38m. Chilton County’s Kyra Holland finished 11th with a distance of 8.12m. All were out of 36 competitors.
Dorian Heard of Maplesville finished 10th out of 73 competitors in the boys discus throw with a distance of 29.31m.
Chilton County’s Mondez Jones finished second out of 79 competitors in the boys shot put with a distance of 13.61m. Gage Minor of Chilton County placed seventh with a distance of 11.86m.
Jones finished seventh out of 61 competitors in the boys javelin throw with a toss of 40.10m. Minor placed 11th with a throw of 37.61m. Cameron Wright of Chilton County finished 16th with a throw of 34.44m.
Billingsley’s Aubree Dudley finished 10th in the girls discus throw with a distance of 21.10m. Kyra Holland of Chilton County finished 13th with a distance of 20.62m. Gabby Harris of Chilton County finished 15th with a throw of 20.16m. They were in a field of 40 competitors.
The Maplesville varsity girls won their 4 x 100 heat with a time of 53.91 seconds. They finished the day sixth in the event.
Armoni McClammy won Heat 10 of the girls 400-meter dash with a time of 1:15:95. She finished at No. 55 out of 83 in the event.
Shaveon Dunlap of Maplesville ran a 13.16 100-meter dash and finished 12th out of 90 competitors.
John Callens of Billingsley finished 10th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.66 seconds.
Maplesville’s Nathaniel Watson finished 14th and Mondez Jones finished 15th both with a time of 11.69.
Watson ran a 23.93-second 200-meter dash to place 17th out of 133 runners.
Maplesville’s Janiya Moore finished 14th out of 98 sprinters in the 200-meter with a time of 27.68 seconds.
