Samuel Edwin Lambert

Samuel Edwin Lambert, 86, of Clanton died Thursday, March 8 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster.

He was born on Thursday, December 31, 1931 in Ritchie County, West Virginia, son of the late Fred Lee Lambert and the late Augusta Leona Moore Lambert. He was the last of seven brothers and sisters.

He was an automobile mechanic at Clanton Motors for over 30 years, and at McKinnons and Morris Automotive until retirement. He was a devoted husband, daddy and Paw Paw. He has always been there for all of his family, we could always count on him to fix just about anything, give advice, and tell us the stories about when he was growing up, we loved him for that and just being himself.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean War at Goosebay Labrador New Foundland as a service manager in mechanics. He was honorably discharged in 1960 while stationed at Craig AFB in Selma.

He also met the love of his life when he was stationed in Selma and they were married Dec. 10, 1955.

Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy Nell Barrett Lambert of Clanton; daughter, Karen LeCroy of Clanton; granddaughters, Ashley LeCroy of Clanton, Amber LeCroy of Madison, Jennifer Liveoak of Clanton, and Cherie (Bobby) Windham of Clanton; grandson, Michiel S. Holcombe, Jr. of Clanton; great-grandchildren, Keith Holcombe of Jemison, Ethan Liveoak of Clanton, Mackenzie Liveoak of Clanton, and Draven Windham of Clanton; sister-in-laws, Linda Kay Wilson Lambert of Ellenboro, West Virginia and Eva May Morris Lambert of Ellenboro, West Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Ann Lambert Holcombe of Clanton; parents, Fred Lee Lambert and Augusta Leona Moore Lambert of Ellenboro, West Virginia; sisters, Theo Lambert Wenz and brother-in-law, Michael Frank Wenz of Washington, DC., Christene Lambert Bertram and brother-in-law, Charles Grant Bertram of St. Petersburg, Florida, Helen Lambert Lowther and brother-in-law, Donald Harold Lowther of New Manchester, West Virginia; brothers, Fred Darrell Lambert and sister-in-law, June Kerns Lambert of Ellenboro, West Virginia, Joe Lee Lambert of University Park, Florida and Frank Ralph Lambert of Ellenboro, West Virginia.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Saturday, March 17 at 11 a.m. at Martin Memorial Cemetery with Bro. Randall Mims officiating. Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton.
