A Prattville man who allegedly robbed a woman at knifepoint on Jan. 10 in Clanton, is charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree domestic violence assault, with $15,000 and $10,000 bonds respectively.
28-year-old Corey Channing Jackson, an ex-boyfriend of the victim, allegedly assaulted her with the blade during the encounter and was arrested later that night by Chilton County deputies.
A caller had reported a “stabbing” at the 3600 block of County Road 47, according to Assistant Chief Deputy Shane Mayfield.
“After arriving, deputies located a female victim with stab wounds to the arm and face,” Mayfield said. “After further investigation, it was determined that the victim and been assaulted and robbed of personal property at knifepoint by an ex-boyfriend.”
“Jackson had fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival,” according to Mayfield.
Warrants were obtained for Jackson’s arrest, and he was arrested later that night without incident and taken into the custody of the Chilton County Jail.
Records show that he has since been released.
The victim was treated for her injuries at St. Vincent’s Chilton, and was released the same day.
