Christmas comes to Senior Connection

Senior Connection welcomed in the Christmas season by hosting its Second Annual Christmas Ball on Dec. 2.
“It gives them time to hang out and enjoy themselves,” Senior Connection Director Vanessa McKinney said. “It takes their mind off their troubles they may be having.”
According to McKinney, the event is in place for the Chilton County community and would not be possible without the continued community support.
Senior Connection was transformed into a winter wonderland with white lights glistening and Christmas spirit all around.
Santa was even on hand for those that wanted to take a picture with the jolly fellow.
Neighborhood Grill catered the Christmas Ball and CCHS students volunteered during and after the event to help clean up.
Planning for the event had been taking place since August.
“I’m proud of everything that got done,” McKinney said. “It was a team effort.”
The ball marked the last big event of 2017 for Senior Connection, as they begin to look ahead to the holidays and the New Year.
Eleven locally-owned businesses sponsored the event, including organizations such as the Rotary Club of Chilton County and the Clanton Lions Club.
