Sherrill M. Godbee, 80, of Calera died peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 8 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster surrounded by family and friends.
She was born on Tuesday, May 18, 1937 in Tennessee, daughter of the late Richard Leon Miller and the late Dorothy Peters Miller.
Mrs. Godbee graduated from Shades Valley High School and attended the University of Alabama, where she was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority.
For thirty-two years, she was an owner of Godbee Medical Distributors, Inc., which remained a respected home medical equipment provider in central Alabama until he and her husband, Sid Godbee, retired and sold the business in 2015.
Surviving are her daughters, Tracy (Bill) Langley of Jacksonville, Florida, Tami Coppock of Enterprise, Perryn (Mike) Carroll of Birmingham, and Vickie (Robert) McGiboney of Calera; grandchildren, Melissa Dorothy Langley, Caroline Allen Langley, Nikki Junkins (AJ) Bartol, Stephen Colton Coppock, Caleb Michael Carroll, Jacob Davis Carroll, Zachary Aaron Carroll, Samuel Andrew Carroll, Kymber Alaynea McGiboney, Morgan Miller McGiboney, and Christopher Lance McGiboney; and great-grandchildren, Blake Anthony Bartol and Charlotte Rose Bartol.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Sid Godbee; brother, Richard Leon Miller, Jr.; and her devoted parents.
Friends will be received from 12:30-1:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 12 at Martin Funeral Home.
Services will be held Sunday, Nov. 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Martin Chapel. Interment will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens.
