A Gospel singing is set for 6 p.m. on Nov. 4 at Calvary Independent Baptist Church in Clanton.
“There will be something for everyone to worship to, and you will leave with your spirit lifted and encouraged,” Rhonda Headley, singer and organizer of the event, said.
Scheduled to bring their tunes and talent are Gospel artists Heaven Strings Bluegrass Band, Mended Hearts Southern Gospel, All for Him Southern Gospel from Dadeville, Sam Price and Ray and Rhonda Headley, who initiated the worshipful get-together.
“We want to have just like what they used to have in the old days,” Rhonda Headley said. “Just a celebration of Southern Gospel and Bluegrass Gospel, a night of just fellowship, worship, singing — just a good Friday night is what we’ve got planned.”
Admission is free and no offering will be collected.
The music groups already have several crowd-favorite songs planned to perform, Headley said.
As an additional highlight, the Calvary Independent youth will perform a drama “that will be a blessing to everyone,” according to Headley.
Headley said the focus for the evening will be to celebrate Christ.
“Because that’s what it’s about anyway,” she said. “It’s about Him. It’s not about the singers, it’s not about the church — it’s about Him. We’re just really looking forward to it.”
Calvary Independent Baptist Church is located at 1719 Fulmer Drive, “on the hill next to the humane society,” according to Headley.
