Sherry Lynn Nord

Sherry Lynn Nord, age 78 of Clanton, passed away Friday, Oct. 13, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Clanton.

She was born on April 29, 1939 in Birmingham, daughter of the late Elver Gilliland and the late Hattie Earlene Chadick Gilliland.

She was a keypunch operator.

She is survived by her husband, Richard O. Nord, Sr. of Clanton; children, Laura (James) Desmond of Clanton and Richard O. (Betty) Nord, Jr. of Clanton; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, June Andrews of Texas, Earlene Johnson of Palmerdale, and Kay (Wayne) Hicks of Palmerdale.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elver and Hattie Earlene Gilliland.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
