Law enforcement seeks suspect linked to deadly fire

Law enforcement is on the lookout for suspect Dustin Wade Martin, linked to a residential structure fire that killed one person on Sept. 13.
The fire was reported to Chilton County E911 at approximately 9:06 a.m., sending West Chilton, Jemison and Cedar Grove Fire Departments speedily to the single-story residence near county roads 781 and 203, according to a Chilton County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.
“Upon arrival of the first units, the house was reported to be fully involved,” the post read.
CCSO said that when the blaze was extinguished, one person was found deceased inside. The victim’s name will be released after family has been notified.
An investigation is under way, conducted by the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office and the CCSO Investigation Team, the post read.
Suspect Martin was last reported in Montevallo, where he shoplifted clothes and a “silver metallic Halloween mask,” according to CCSO.
Martin drives a blue Nissan Versa with a handicap tag 6G13G.
