Clarice Thornton

Clarice Thornton, 99, of Auburn died Saturday, Sept. 9 at Auburn Bethany House.

She was born Friday, Jan. 18, 1918 in Chilton County, daughter of the late Theodore Thornton and the late Rena Crew Thornton.

She was a retired administrative assistant.

Surviving are her niece, Debra (Marc) Armstrong-Wright; nephews, Gary (Lisa) Thornton, Byron (Cindy) Thornton, Mark (Melissa) Thornton, Tim (Cindy) Thornton; eight great-nieces; four great-nephews; and a host of adoring great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, a niece and two nephews.

Friends will be received from 1-1:45 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 17 at Martin Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be held Sunday, Sept. 17 at 2 p.m. at Chestnut Creek Baptist Cemetery, Verbena.
