Chilton Christian Academy is commencing its 41st year with the completion of several renovation projects.
“We’ve redone some floors and upgraded some rooms,” Pastor/Administrator Donald Jones of Victory Baptist Church, which houses CCA, said.
Most renovations were completed by the Aug. 1 goal “because we have a lot of good people from Victory Baptist Church who jumped in and helped,” Jones said.
Among the more major renovations were the remodeling of the lobby and the installation of a new gym floor.
The application of the Patriot emblem in the center of the gym floor midday Aug. 9 officially completed renovations, Jones said.
Although the new gym floor would be usable for physical education classes Aug. 11 once the paint dried, the Patriots’ annual Queen of the Court volleyball tournament on Aug. 12 will be the first official athletic interaction with the new gym floor.
The Queen of the Court tournament kicks off each new school year for CCA. This year, it will feature competition between eight teams—Patriots included—from across the state.
Remaining are mostly decorative projects, such as installing a TV in the lobby and outfitting a fellowship room for Sunday mornings.
“We certainly appreciate everyone’s interest and prayers for our ministry,” Jones said. “It takes a whole group of people working together to accomplish things. It really does.”
Jones said CCA and Victory Baptist Church is privileged to be a part of what God’s doing.
CCA is still accepting donations to fund renovation expenses. Donations can be given directly by contacting the church office at 205-688-4454.
