Habitat for Humanity of Autauga and Chilton Counties was surprised with a $3,000 grant by the Central Alabama Community Foundation (CACF) on Aug. 2.

CACF surprised the non-profit with the check and balloons at its 40th home build site.

“To be chosen is such an honor and a testament to our organization. We were nominated and voted for by our community…” Lisa Green, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Autauga and Chilton Counties, said.

Habitat for Humanity builds quality homes at affordable prices for low-income families.

“We know that building a home from the ground up is no easy task, and greatly appreciate the work of Habitat for Humanity of Autauga and Chilton Counties,” CACF President Burton Ward said.

The surprise grant to Habitat for Humanity is the 15th out of 30 total surprise grants to be distributed by CACF this year as part of CACF’s 30th year anniversary celebration.

“The work of this organization’s staff and volunteers continues to make the dream of home ownership a reality for hardworking families in our community,” Ward said.

Donations to the CACF surprise grants can be made at www.cacfinfo.org, or by check payable to CACF at 35 S. Court Street, Montgomery, AL 36104.
