The 33rd annual Roy Wood Peach Festival Art Show will once again be hosted this year by Peoples Southern Bank in Clanton and is scheduled for June 15-June 21.
Artistic talent from around the county will be on display and divided up into adult and children divisions.
The categories allow the ability for the entire family to get involved and share their creativeness with their fellow residents.
According to Peoples Southern president Richard Moore, the contest typically includes about 50 participants.
The art will be displayed in the lobby of the bank located at 602 2nd Ave. N. in Clanton, as it has since the show first began in the late 1990s.
Roy Wood, a longtime employee with Peoples Southern, had a passion for art and came up with the original idea. The art show is named in honor of him.
“We’re proud of continuing the legacy,” Moore said.
The art will remain on display for a week and provides the perfect lead up to the rest of the festivities surrounding the Chilton County Peach Festival June 17-June 24.
“We have a number of people that come through just to see the artwork,” Moore said.
All artwork must be an original piece and cannot be duplicated in any way.
Artists can enter two works of art and an entry fee of $5 is required for each piece.
Winners of each division will receive $100, while second place gets $75, third place $50 and $25 for honorable mention.
Artists wishing to take part in the exhibit must bring by their artwork between noon and 2 p.m. on June 14.
People will be of hand to take in the artwork and help with the presentation.
