Jemison man sentenced to 20 years for child abuse

Timothy Ross Streeter, 50, of Jemison, was sentenced on May 1 to 20 years in the Alabama Penitentiary for sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years of age, a Class B felony.
While serving his sentence, he will have to successfully complete a sex offender intervention program. Streeter must register as a sex offender in the state of Alabama upon his release from prison.
Streeter was found guilty by a jury on February 13 in Shelby County Circuit Court. The offense in question occurred on Dec. 4, 2013, the day before his arrest.
The mandatory minimum sentence for his crime is 10 years. Circuit Judge Lara M. Alvis ordered the 20-year sentence on May 1.
Streeter’s latest reported address was 1115 County Road 914 Lot B in Jemison.
