Power companies servicing Chilton County are prepared to respond to any potential negative effects the winter weather forecast for the weekend of Jan. 6 might have.
Officials have released statements concerning their preparation.
The Engineering and Operations Vice President of Central Alabama Electric Cooperative issued the following statement:
“With the possibility of winter weather impacting our area tomorrow through Saturday, we have ensured our equipment is ready to go and that we have personnel ready to restore power should outages occur. As we continue to monitor the conditions and prepare, we ask that members please do the same. If conditions do become hazardous, it may delay our crews in their response time.”
Mike Jordan, a representative from Alabama Power, said in a press release:
“Alabama Power is closely monitoring the potential for winter weather and will be prepared to respond were outages occur. In the event one of our customers were to lose power, we encourage them to report the outage by calling 1-800-888-2726.”
