David Lamar Gentry
David Lamar Gentry, 73, of Clanton died Wednesday, Jan. 4 at UAB, Birmingham.
He was born on Monday, April 19, 1943 in Alabama, son of the late Charlie W. Gentry and the late Opal Matthews Tabaka.
He was an Alabama Power electrical engineer.
Surviving are his wife, Elouise K. Gentry of Clanton; daughter, Joy Gentry Bennett of Millbrook; son-in-law, Lloyd Bennett of Millbrook; grandsons, Taylor Mathews of South Korea and Connor Mathews of Millbrook; and granddaughter, Audrey Gentry of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Alan Gentry; father, Charlie Gentry; and mother, Opal Matthews Tabaka.
Friends will be received from 12-2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 8 at Victory Chapel Church.
Services will be held Sunday, Jan. 8 at 2 p.m. at Victory Chapel Church with Rev. Glen Vaughn and Rev. Lane Simmons, Rev. Brent Collins, Rev. Randy Reid, and Rev. Donnie Messer officiating. Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton.
