Dorothy A. Harris

Dorothy A. Harris, 85, of Plantersville died Tuesday, Dec. 13 at her residence.

She was born Monday, Aug. 31, 1931 in Alabama, daughter of the late Charlie M. Johnson and the late Annie Griffith Johnson.

She was a lunchroom manager.

Surviving are her daughter, Brenda Atchison of Pell City; sons, Larry (Karen) Jones of Plantersville, John (Rachel) Jones of Plantersville, and Eddie Jones of Plantersville; sister, Sara J. Atchison of Plantersville; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ensign “EP” Jones; husband, Arliss Harris; parents, Charlie M. and Annie L. Johnson; brothers, James R. and William Earl Johnson.

Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 15 at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be held Friday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. at Plantersville Baptist Church with Rev. Don Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Plantersville Christian.
