Emogene Eady Varden
Emogene Eady Varden, age 74 of Thorsby, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
She was born in Jefferson County on June 6, 1942; the daughter of the late Carl Eady and the late Stella Washington Eady.
She was a former ordering specialist with civil service.
She is survived by son, Bryan Varden of Cummings, Ga; daughter, Theresa Curtis of Thorsby; grandson, Aaron Varden of Clanton; grandson, Brandon Varden of Thorsby; sisters, Ruth Ware of Clay, Sue Mullins of Clay, and Margie Langston of Plant City, Fla.; and brothers, Roy (Peggy) Eady of Birmingham, James (Jo Nelle) Eady of Clay, and Frank (Louise) Eady of Springville.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Varden; parents, Carl and Stella Eady; and brothers, Alton Eady and Ralph Eady.
Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 24 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home at Shelby Memory Gardens located at 8586 Hwy 25, Calera.
A graveside service will be held following the visitation at 2 p.m. in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo with Rev. Don Roebuck officiating.
