James C. (Jim) Easterling, Jr.
James C. (Jim) Easterling, Jr. passed away Monday, Oct. 3. He was born on Oct. 27, 1934.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Easterling, and his mother, Mary S. Easterling.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Minor Easterling; brother, Bobby (Geraldene) Easterling; niece, Valerie (Bill) Speaks; nephew, Kelly Easterling; great-nephews, Gavin Speaks and Trey (Sara) Speaks.
He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Engineering. He taught math and science at Verbena High School in the 1961-1962 school year. He later moved to Huntsville, where he worked for 10 years in the space industry and 24 years in the tactical missile industry. He retired from the army missile command in 1997 where he served as the Engineering Services Manager for the Army Tactical Missile Project Office. He was a member of the University Alumni Association, the Capstone Engineering Society and the First Baptist Church of Clanton.
Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at Martin Funeral Home.
Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. at Martin Chapel with officiating.
Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery.
