Charles Lee Ellison

Charles Lee Ellison, age 81 of Jemison, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14, at his residence.

He was born in Chilton County on August 4, 1935, the son of the late Jadie Ellison and the late Irene Hamilton Ellison.

He served his country in the United States Army. He went on to work for Alabama Power Company where he retired as a lead lineman. He was a member of the Alabama Power Company Energizers Club. He was also a former Chilton County Commissioner.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley B. Ellison of Jemison; sisters, Jerri Barefield of Bertha, Jean Craig of Gardendale, and Sara Goode of Clanton; brothers, Roland Ellison of Clanton, Jimmy Ellison of Jemison, and Jerry Ellison of Jemison; son, Shunn Ellison of Jemison; grandson, Tyler Ellison of Jemison; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 16 at 11 a.m. from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. J. Aaron Ellison and Rev. Darrell Sammons officiating.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery in Jemison.
