Roy Allen Sweatt

Roy Allen Sweatt, 72, of Jemison died Monday, Aug. 29 at Grandview Medical Center, Birmingham.

He was born on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 1944 in Key West, Fla., son of the late Roy Edward Sweatt and the late Thelma Mae Thornton Sweatt.

He was in food sales.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Sweatt of Jemison; daughters, Lisa Crocker of Demopolis, and Angie (Mark) Lawrence of Orrville; sons, David (Tami) Powell of Rising Fawn, Ga., and Clint (Bethany) Sweatt of Alabaster; 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other family; and brother, Terrill Sweatt of Leeds.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Thelma Sweatt; brother, Roger Sweatt; and daughter, Ginger Sweatt.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30 at Jemison First Baptist.

Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. at Jemison First Baptist Church with Rev. Rex Kent officiating.

Interment will follow in Rocky Mount Cemetery, Jemison.
