Everett Deason “Rabbit” Jones, Sr.

Everett Deason “Rabbit” Jones, Sr., age 77 of Clanton, passed away Sunday, Aug. 21 at his residence.

He was born in Chilton County on Nov. 26, 1938, son of the late Everett Guss Jones and the late Dallas Geneva Deason

He is survived by his wife, Joyce A. Jones of Clanton; son, Everett (Jane) Jones, Jr. of Deatsville; daughter, Melanie (Mike) Hall of Clanton; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; brother, Melford Jones of Oneonta; and a sister, Ruby Jones of Virginia.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Everett Guss and Dallas Geneva Jones; great-grandsons, Cameron and Cody Jones; and a brother, Charles Jones.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. from the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Gibson, Rev. Tate Sutton, and Mike Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
