Clanton Fire Department is selling T-shirts to promote breast cancer research in Alabama.
Orders for the shirts are being taken through the end of the month, CFD Chief David Driver said.
The department will participate in the 2016 Pink Ribbon Project, in which proceeds from the sale of shirts benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama.
CFD will sell short-sleeve T-shirts in sizes small through 5X for $15 each.
Anyone interested in ordering a shirt should stop by Fire Station 1, which is located at 100 Sixth St. S., or call 755-0533.
The shirts will be personalized to Clanton, Driver said, and feature a pink design and text.
“We don’t make any money off of it,” Driver said. “We didn’t do it last year, but we did it two years ago, and I ended up writing a check for $1,200-$,1300. We sold a lot of them.”
Last year’s Pink Ribbon Project netted more than $72,000 for research, according to information provided by the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama.
