Carolyn Sturgeon Kennedy

Carolyn Sturgeon Kennedy, 90, of Clanton died Friday, Aug. 12 at her residence.

She was born on Tuesday, June 22, 1926 in Tempel, Texas, daughter of the late Aaron Sturgeon and the late Nell Hempel Sturgeon.

She was an accountant.

Surviving are her stepchildren, Glenn Kennedy of Maplesville, Kathy (Darryl) Richardson of Mobile, and Will (Victoria) Kennedy of Key Largo, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Donna Welgos Landry of Brandon, Miss.; grandchildren, William Jonathan Welgos, Lyndsy Welgos (Ara) Anjargolian, Meredith Allums (Frank) Curry, Victor (Selena) Kennedy, Sam (Julie) Kennedy, Cullen Kennedy, Cody Kennedy, Carson Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Chandler Welgos, Ivey Reese Welgos, Baby Boy Anjargolian, Caitlin Curry, Michael Curry, Jamie Kennedy, George Kennedy, and Julian Kennedy; brother, Ben Sturgeon of Pampa, Texas; and sister, Mary Sturgeon of Dallas, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert R. Kennedy; child, Walter Water Welgos; and child, William James Welgos.

Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 16 at Trinity Episcopal Church. Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church with Rev. Bill King officiating. Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton. Martin Funeral Home directing.
