Don “Big Daddy” McRae

Don “Big Daddy” McRae, 73, of Thorsby died Monday, August 8, 2016 at East Georgia Medical Center, Statesboro, Ga.

He was born Tuesday, June 22, 1943 in Dallas County, Ala., son of the late Bayliss McRae and the late Lucy Stewart McRae.

He was a project manager.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Battle McRae of Thorsby; daughter, Kelly Lee (Park Lee) of Milton, Fla.; sons, Keith McRae of Thorsby, and Kyle McRae (Michelle McRae) of Thorsby; granddaughters, Nancy Rios (Charley Rios) of Lithia, Fla., and Katy Lee of Milton, Fla.; grandsons, Ryan McRae of Alabaster, Braden McRae of Thorsby, and Conner McRae of Thorsby; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Emma, Park &  Haynes Rios, James Bayless and Hattie Lee, Raelyn Joiner and Brantley McRae.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bayliss and Lucy McRae.

Friends will be received from 1-2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 12 at Thorsby First Baptist Church. Services will be held Friday, Aug. 12 at 2 p.m. at Thorsby First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens, Calera.
