Michael Allen Mims, 65, died June 23, 2016, in Smyrna, Georgia. Mike was born April 25, 1951, in Clanton, Alabama, to Sue Crew Mims and Lawrence H. Mims and lived there until he graduated from CCHS in 1969. He then attended Auburn University.

He was preceded in death by both parents, his sister-in-law, Donna Siltanen Mims and uncle, Katie Mims.

Mike lived in Atlanta most of his adult life in a career that surrounded his love of art. He was currently employed with The Atlanta History Center where he had been for the last 17 years. Mike was very talented and well respected by his co-workers.

He is survived by his brother Jeffrey Cole Mims; step-mother Margaret Hayes Mims; niece Jeonna Mims Vironet and her children, Kindred Pilling, Lyric Vironet and Rhythm Vironet; aunts Helen Mims, Ruby Crew Ingram, Myrna Crew Scott; loving cousins Brenda, Camille, Katrina and best friend, Mike Wear; their families and many friends.
