Heather Alford and Phillip Scott announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

Alford is the daughter of Irby Howard McNeill III of Jemison, and the granddaughter of Dot and I.H. McNeill Jr. of Jemison, and Willie and Hubert Mosley of Pensacola, Fla.

She is a 1998 graduate of Pelham High School.

She has studied early childhood education and elementary education at the University of Montevallo, earned a master’s degree in instructional leadership from the University of Montevallo, studied education specialist in instructional leadership at the University of Montevallo, and studied in the doctoral program in educational leadership at Orlean Bullard Beeson School of Education and Professional Studies, ABD, at Samford University.

Scott is the son of Barbara West of Jemison and Michael Scott of Tuscaloosa, and the grandson of Doris and Eugene West of Jemison, and Evelyn and Charles Ray Scott of Clanton.

He is a 2000 graduate of Shelby Academy and earned a degree in accounting from the University of Montevallo.

Scott is employed at I.H. McNeill, III, CPA, PC.

The wedding will be June 18. Invitations will be sent.
