Melba Y. Hudson, 76, of Thorsby died Monday, May 9, 2016, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was born on Friday, Aug. 18, 1939, in Chilton County, daughter of the late Oliver Cox and the late Agnes Dupree Cox.

She was a seamstress.

Surviving are daughters, Pattie (Gene) Littleton of Jemison, Denise (Greg) Scarbrough of Clanton; son, Vincent (Lynn) Hudson of Jemison; grandchildren, Michael, Amanda, Zac, Kyle, Tanna, Abbie, Taylor and Kayla; great-grandchildren, Patrick, Cody, Addison and Riley; sister, Brenda Easterling of Coopers; brother, Taska Cox of Elizabeth Town, Ky.

Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 12 at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be held Friday, May 13 at 11 a.m. at Chestnut Creek Heritage Chapel with Bro. Jack Jones officiating.

Interment will follow in Chestnut Creek Baptist Cemetery in Verbena.
