Cynthia Sarvaunt Chambers, 58, died Monday, April 25, 2016, in a local hospital.
She was a native and long time resident of Lake Charles and had been a resident of the Sulphur/Westlake area for the last 8 years. She was a member of Houston River Baptist Church. She retired after 31 years of service as an operator with Bell South/AT&T. She was a member of The Telephone Pioneers and the Ladies Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.).
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Jay Dee Chambers of Sulphur; her mother, Ruth Fults Sarvaunt of Clanton; her daughter, Tara Chambers Wilson and husband, Miles of Greenwood, Indiana; her siblings, Connie Sarvaunt Dean and husband, Jimmy of Alabaster, Alabama, Becky Sarvaunt Blessing and husband, Bryan of Cypress, Texas, and Michael Wayne Sarvaunt and wife, Dorothy of Helena, Alabama; her grandchildren, Alexandra Faye Wilson and Derek James Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Dallas Lee Sarvaunt; and a nephew, Cody Dean.
Her funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. John Astling will officiate.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 2, in Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 3 p.m. until the time of service Thursday in the funeral home.
