John W. Williams, 82, of Jemison died Friday, April 22, 2016, at Tuskegee VA Medical Center in Tuskegee.

He was born on Saturday, Feb. 10, 1934, in Chilton County, son of the late Robert Allen Williams Sr. and the late Rosa Lee Chambers Williams.

He was retired from the Air Force.

Surviving are wife, Mrs. Wilma Sue Williams of Jemison; daughters, Mrs. Cindy Smitherman of Clanton, Mrs. Lyn (Fred) Cox of Fort Payne; son, Robby (Darlene) Williams of Jemison; grandchildren, Kelly (Donna) Smitherman, Leslie (Chaney) Wells, Kip (Carla) Benson, Melanie Benson, Lori Rickerd, Jennifer (Mike) Ceravolo, Jessica (Josh) Glass, Aimee (Kyle) Sumrall; 17 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Tony Smitherman; sister, Peggy Powell of Ozark.

He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Williams.

Friends were received from 1-2 p.m., Sunday, April 24 at Martin Funeral Home.

Graveside Services were held Sunday, April 24 at 2 p.m. at Martin Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Kelly Smitherman officiating.
