Rachel Wilson starts every day hoping to see her husband again and ends every day distraught that there is still no trace of him after more than two months.
Jeremy Todd Wilson, 34, the 12-year husband of Rachel Wilson, was last seen Feb. 7.
Extensive searches have turned up nothing.
Rachel Wilson wonders what else can be done to bring closure for a family that also includes the couple’s sons, ages 14 and 12.
“My two kids need their dad back,” she said. “It’s a nightmare. I keep thinking I’m going to wake up. We need closure.”
Jeremy Todd Wilson was last seen about 3 p.m. on Feb. 7, walking on County Road 51 in Clanton.
Rachel Wilson said she and her husband were arguing, and he got out of their vehicle on County Road 448 and started walking, less than a mile from the couple’s home.
Though the last time she saw her husband was during a conflict, Rachel Wilson said she does not believe Jeremy Todd Wilson would have intentionally left home.
“I know in my heart, and my sons know, that he would never just leave,” she said.
Instead, Rachel Wilson said she believes Jeremy Todd Wilson came into contact with someone that day who did him harm.
“Somebody knows,” she said. “He did not just vanish. Something bad happened.”
Active searches for Wilson ceased after law enforcement officials covered the area where he was last seen, even enlisting the help of residents wanting to help for a daylong search.
A reward of $1,900 is being offered for information about Wilson’s whereabouts.
Wilson is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds, has green eyes and brown hair and was last seen wearing an Alabama hoodie, blue jeans, black and white Nike shoes and a gray Under Armour hat.
His birthday is Oct. 1, 1981.
