Baugh Ford attempts to ‘flush out cancer’

This is the first year that Baugh Ford has a “Relay For Life” team, and team members decided to raise money in a unique way.
“Instead of doing something like a car wash, we wanted to do something that was different,” team spokeswoman Falla Bradford said.
The idea was to have a toilet painted purple and bedazzled show up in front of resident’s homes and businesses throughout the community.
Members of the service department at Baugh Ford helped create the toilet’s design.
The purple toilet first showed up at a residence on Monday and will continue at least until April 30, when Chilton County will hold its “Relay For Life” event.
According to Bradford, the goal of the program is to catch people’s attention and create awareness in the fight against cancer. She said she hopes people will understand it is for a good cause and not a prank.
“It’s nice to work somewhere where they allow us to do something like this for the county,” Bradford said. “The more we get involved, the more fun it is for all of us.”
Once the toilet arrives at your home or business, $20 can be paid to Baugh Ford to have it removed and $30 to have it removed and placed at another residence or business of your choice.
Destinations can be chosen multiple times. Those who do not wish to see the toilet arrive ever again can pay a $50 “insurance” fee to Baugh Ford.
All proceeds from the program will be given to benefit the American Cancer Society and continue the efforts in the fight against cancer.
